![]() Last thing of interest is that while the Zymol is on the next level of cost vs “basic” waxes, the tub will last you a very long time. That was enough of a back to back test for me and Zymol was the clear winner. On the other hand, the Zymol had rejected the water and the surface was nearly dry from the water beading off on its own. It was better than never being waxed, and the truck felt pretty smooth, but it wasn’t great and it clearly needed to be re-applied. The Chemical Guys, sorry to say, was just a sheet of “standing” water. Two weeks later, I sprayed the hood down and the section done with Zymol was beading up and just falling off the truck. I started by doing a small test section on the hood with the Zymol combo (HD Cleanse and Carbon Wax) using the methods listed above for both products. As I got tired of doing this so frequently, my quest began. So again, the Chemical Guys finished appearance was great but I found that I needed to re-apply about every two weeks to keep the water beading nicely. Yes, you read that right, the Zymol wax is similar to coconut oil and “melts” in your hand and goes on great by using a very small amount and working it into the paint. similar approach with Zymol but the wax was applied with bare hands like lotion. ![]() Chemical Guys I used cotton pad applicators for both products and microfiber for removal. First things first, for anyone wondering, my routine is the same with both products: Double bucket with grit trap method for wash, followed by drying with a leaf blower to minimize touching the black paint. I used Zymol cleaner wax many years ago and had good results so figured I’d give them another try. The Chemical Guys combo worked well and looked great when done, but it just didn’t last. ![]() Prior to purchasing this Zymol combo I have been using Chemical Guys Butter Wax in combination with Black Light polish on my Tuxedo Black Ford F-250. ![]()
